Day 1 – Arrival in Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco!

Your private Morocco family holiday begins in Casablanca. On arrival at Casablanca Airport, you’ll be welcomed by a local representative and transferred privately to your hotel.

There are no scheduled activities before the welcome meeting at 5 pm, giving your family time to settle in after your journey.

If you arrive earlier and would like to explore, Casablanca offers plenty to discover. Walk through the old medina, see the city walls, explore the Quartiers des Habous or enjoy a relaxed stroll along the Corniche.

For families interested in architecture and history, the city is also home to the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of Morocco’s most recognisable landmarks.

Day 2 – Casablanca to Fes

After breakfast, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque before boarding the train to Fes.

Relax and watch the Moroccan landscape change as you travel inland towards the country’s historic cultural capital.

After arriving in Fes, settle into your accommodation and enjoy some free family time. You may prefer to relax at the hotel and make use of the pool before beginning your exploration of the ancient city.

Fes is home to Fes el Bali, a vast historic medina filled with narrow lanes, traditional markets and centuries-old architecture.

Day 3 – Discover Fes with Your Family

Today you’ll explore the remarkable Old City of Fes with your private local guide.

Follow the maze of alleyways through the medina and discover colourful souqs filled with spices, herbs, fruit and traditional Moroccan goods. Along the way, you’ll encounter historic khans, madrasas and the famous dyeing and leather-working areas.

Visit Madrasa Al-Attarine and explore the traditional tanneries while learning about the history and craftsmanship that have made Fes famous.

After a full day discovering the medina, return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 4 – Fes to Midelt through the Middle Atlas

Today your private journey continues into the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Travel by private minibus through fertile valleys, pine forests and dramatic rocky landscapes as you leave the city behind.

Keep an eye out for local shepherds and, depending on conditions, Barbary macaques, North Africa’s only native monkey species.

Arrive in Midelt, a mountain town surrounded by farms and orchards. You’ll take a walk through an Amazigh village and gain an insight into traditional farming life before enjoying a special home-cooked lunch.

The afternoon is free for your family to relax or enjoy the hotel swimming pool.

Day 5 – Midelt to the Sahara Desert

Today you’ll travel towards one of Morocco’s most memorable landscapes: the Sahara Desert.

The route takes you through changing scenery, from mountain landscapes to palm-filled valleys and desert towns such as Erfoud and Rissani.

Eventually you’ll reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Leave your main luggage behind, prepare a small daypack and climb aboard your camels for an unforgettable sunset ride across the Sahara.

As evening falls, arrive at your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a hearty Moroccan dinner and spend the night beneath the desert sky.

Day 6 – Sahara Desert to Todra Gorge

Wake up in the desert and continue your private family journey towards Todra Gorge.

Along the way, stop at a local fossil factory and learn about the area’s geological history before continuing towards the Todra Valley.

The valley follows the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and is surrounded by green fields, palm trees, traditional mudbrick villages and dramatic rock formations.

You’ll also have the opportunity to share lunch with a local family in their home, providing a genuine insight into everyday Moroccan life.

Later, your family can choose how to spend your free time: take a walk through Todra Gorge, explore nearby villages or simply relax.

Day 7 – Todra Gorge to Ait Benhaddou

Continue south towards Ait Benhaddou, travelling through spectacular scenery of mountains, palm-filled valleys and ancient kasbahs.

You’ll pass through Ouarzazate, a famous filming location associated with productions including Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy and Aladdin.

In Ait Benhaddou, enjoy lunch at a restaurant operated by the Tawesna Association, an all-women cooperative supporting the local community.

Your family will then take part in a hands-on Moroccan cooking experience. Learn how to prepare baghrir, traditional Moroccan pancakes, and other sweet treats alongside local women.

Later, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This impressive earthen settlement was once an important stop for caravans crossing the Sahara.

End the day with a traditional Moroccan dinner featuring favourites such as couscous and tagine.

Day 8 – Ait Benhaddou to Marrakech

After breakfast, leave Ait Benhaddou and travel towards Marrakech.

The journey takes you through the dramatic landscapes of southern Morocco before reaching the lively Red City in the afternoon.

Once in Marrakech, you can join your private guide for an orientation walk or use the afternoon to relax after the journey.

Explore colourful spice markets, discover traditional Moroccan crafts and experience the unique atmosphere of this historic city.

Day 9 – Marrakech Family Free Day

Enjoy a flexible day in Marrakech with your family.

Having private travel arrangements gives you the freedom to choose how you spend the day. Relax, explore the city independently or arrange an optional activity.

Families looking for a hands-on cultural experience can take part in a Moroccan tajine cooking class, learning about local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques in an authentic riad setting.

Later, visit Djemaa el-Fna, Marrakech’s famous central square. As evening arrives, the square fills with performers, storytellers, henna artists and food stalls.

Explore the surrounding souks, try traditional Moroccan food and finish the evening with a drink while enjoying views across the lively square.

Day 10 – Departure from Marrakech

After breakfast, your private Morocco family holiday comes to an end.

If your family has more time available, consider extending your stay in Marrakech with additional nights to explore more of the city and its surroundings.
